Eponymy was created on a small budget, so hiring a PR firm was unfeasible. Instead, to create buzz, I designed elaborate and whimsical window displays — similar to those seen in old-fashioned stores, but with a modern twist — and hosted unconventional but newsworthy events including a live ice sculpture carving, a pop-up tattoo shop, and partnering with other local small businesses including restaurants, music venues and craft cocktail bars to host parties.
In this press piece, Eponymy is covered in the New York Times for its Fashion’s Night Out party — along with Saks Fifth Ave, Bergdorf Goodman, Opening Ceremony, Balenciaga and others. This event featured a live ice sculpture carving (of Bianca, the shop’s French Bulldog mascot).
