The New York Times I

Eponymy was created on a small budget, so hiring a PR firm was unfeasible. Instead, to create buzz, I designed elaborate and whimsical window displays — similar to those seen in old-fashioned stores, but with a modern twist — and hosted unconventional but newsworthy events including a live ice sculpture carving, a pop-up tattoo shop, and partnering with other local small businesses including restaurants, music venues and craft cocktail bars to host parties.

In this press piece, Eponymy is covered in the New York Times for its Fashion’s Night Out party — along with Saks Fifth Ave, Bergdorf Goodman, Opening Ceremony, Balenciaga and others. This event featured a live ice sculpture carving (of Bianca, the shop’s French Bulldog mascot).

The New York Times II

Eponymy spotlighted in the New York Times for its Fashion’s Night party — along with Saks Fifth Ave, Bergdorf Goodman, Opening Ceremony, Balenciaga and others. Eponymy’s event featured a live ice sculpture carving of Bianca, the shop’s French Bulldog mascot, and Kings County Cordials by craft cocktail bar Weather Up.

From Bianca’s “About Me” section:

“My name is Bianca and I have a flat face and an odd shaped body. As a socialite, model and arbiter of style, I am often asked for my opinion in matters of fashion and etiquette. This is my little blog about things I find pleasing and those which cause me displeasure.

Yours,

Bianca Miller”

Japion NY

Japion NY approached me about an upcoming article featuring “iconic animals who grace New York City establishments” and asked if they could interview Bianca.

Of the six animals featured, the “Cat of the Algonquin Hotel,” was probably the most well known, but it was Bianca who ended up gracing the front page of the newspaper.
